Fine Dining in Florence

The majority of the time that we were in Florence we dined at local Trattorias and Osterias. However, this year I made a lunch restoration at the Michelin Starred restaurant Ora d’Aria. I had read about the chef of the restaurant, Marco Stabile, and wanted to experience the place first hand. After checking out the dinner menu and deciding that dinner there was not in our budget, we decided to do a more affordable lunch tasting menu. I am so glad that we decided to have a fancy lunch there! The chef himself took our order and was so kind. He was not at all pretentious and really helped us work our way through deciphering the menu. He even planned a special tasting menu for us based on what we told him that we did and did not like. The service was impeccable and we literally never had to think about what we wanted because a server would show up before we even knew we wanted something! Our last experience at a Michelin starred restaurant was totally disappointing and honestly kind of stressful so we definitely tread very carefully when a restaurant has a super long tasting menu. But lunch here was not at all stressful and the food was so good! I really enjoyed the wine that they selected for us as well! I would definitely recommend making a lunch reservation or even a dinner reservation here!  The experience is totally different than dining at a more local, traditional Florentine restaurant. It is so fun to experience both types of places.
