Pasta Making Class in Florence

Despite what these pictures might suggest we are safely back in Chicago! We flew home about a week ago and have just been trying to fight off the most horrible jet lag you can imagine. The first night we got home we fell fast asleep at 6pm and then were wide awake at 3:00 am. The next few nights we did not do much better and have been struggling to stay awake until even just 9 pm! The jet lag struggle is very real! Because of my crazy sleep schedule, and just general lack of energy, I have not been able to post as much as I would have liked. If you have any tips for increased energy and how to fight off fatigue, I would so love them! I am going to be do my best to get the rest of our Italy pictures and info up here as soon as I can so that this does not feel like it just drags on forever!

Last summer, I basically returned to Chicago kicking and screaming. We stayed in Florence a lot longer 3 months as opposed to the 2 months that we spent there this year, but the time went by so fast because we were experiencing everything for the first time. I loved our summer this year but by the very end I was ready to come home. We had already seen everything and just knew it all so well that there was not much left to soak in. I am so thankful for our experience there this year- it was different than last summer and totally unforgettable- but I am also really enjoying being home right now.

That being said, one of our favorite new experiences this summer was a cooking class we took in Florence! We signed up for a pasta making class at a cooking school called Mama Florence and just had the best time! It truly was one of my highlights of the summer. In the pasta making class we learned how to make 3 different types of pasta and also made a 3 course meal complete with tiramisu! When we were all done, we got to eat the meal that we had created. The professional cooks were so kind and made the whole experience just so much fun. The pasta making part of the class was so much fun! I loved learning all about it. The people in our class were also so nice and we all had a great time getting to know each other at dinner. I would definitely recommend this experience for anyone who is traveling to Florence and is looking for a fun cooking class. Just make sure you book your tickets for the class ahead of time as each class fills up very quickly.
