A Winter Baby Shower

My mom, sister and sister-in-love threw me such a sweet baby shower over this past weekend. It was so much fun to get the chance to celebrate this little growing girl and her approaching arrival! They set out a beautiful long table in the middle of my mom’s home and served a fun little brunch while some of my very favorite women got to meet and mingle. My mom always throws the very best parties and truly everything I know about entertaining and hospitality I learned from watching her throw parties over the years. During the entire day my little girl kicked like crazy! It was like she knew this party was to celebrate her and she wanted to get in on the fun. Somedays I feel like she gets on a kicking roll and other days she just wants to relax, so it was so fun to feel all those little punches and kicks when we were celebrating her. I also loved how the whole party felt like a pre-Valentine’s Day celebration with all the pink and white! My sister is the ultimate Valentine’s Day celebrator and has always gone all out making fun Valentines and wearing pink for the days leading up to February 14th. When she was younger she used to insist on wearing pink every day during the entire month of February. My mom would constantly have to do laundry because she would not wear any other color! How sweet is that?!

This little nugget is doubling in size as we speak!I just hit 33 weeks and really feel the pressure to get the nursery finished. I also am hoping to start adding pictures and memories into her baby book! There have been so many moments that I want to remember to tell her about when she’s older. Since she has gotten so much bigger in even just the past 2 weeks, I have experienced like so much shortness of breath it’s totally pathetic. I will walk half a mile on the treadmill and have to stop and catch my breath. It’s a humbling experience for sure. I also have to roll out of bed like a turtle and getting out of chairs is becoming more of an ordeal. But otherwise I am just trying to enjoy this final weeks before she makes arrives. I will hopefully take a few more maternity pictures to document this growing bump as well. 🙂
