Fall White and Thoughts on Femininity

The past couple of weeks I have had so many interesting conversations with women about  reveling in womanhood. There is something so powerful about a woman who unapologetically embraces her femininity. For me, this has meant embracing that I really love girly things like flowers, romantic movies, fro yo, getting my hair done, and not feeling bad about that! There are few things that I love more than lace and really sweet girly detailing. It has also meant embracing some shortcomings. I am very comfortable with the fact that I can not open any jar of anything and do not know how to change a tire.

There was a point in my life where I only wore big, boxy clothes because I was so scared that anything too form fitting would show off my body. Growing closer to God changed all of that. Now, I am so much more confident that God shaped, formed and created every part of me on purpose. In “Wild at Heart,” John Eldredge talks about how the devil can twist a woman’s view of her appearance resulting in women hiding their beauty out of anger or fear or resulting in women who use it to secure their place in the world. Neither is what God intended. I pray that we would never find our identity in outward appearances but would confidently embrace our bodies as God’s unique, perfect handiwork. He makes no mistakes.

(I also pray that you get the chance to wear lots of lace. 😉  xoxo)

Dress from H&M, unavailable online but similar here. Love this white lace option which is on sale! I have been eyeing this winter white dress for so long … probably obsessively long!  Love love this coat. Great coat option which is on sale!
