Dressing your ever changing body during pregnancy is complicated! The time goes fast and it feels like every time I got a hang on what was working for me, my body suddenly changed. Even though I LOVE clothes and love shopping, I managed to contain my shopping habits during pregnancy and really did not buy all that much. It just felt a little hard for me to buy things specifically for a short season of life that I know will be over so soon. I did however buy a few pieces that I wore over and over again.
Jeans
I only bought one pair of maternity jeans from Pea in the Pod, in the dark wash, and I wish I had bought them earlier. They were so comfortable and definitely made such a huge difference. I really liked having the full belly band. Life got significantly more enjoyable once I put those babies on! I probably should have bought another pair of maternity jeans but I wear so many dresses that I did not really need another pair.
I have heard such good things about these black Madewell ones if you are currently in the market.
Dresses
I was able to wear a lot of my pre-pregnancy dresses during pregnancy, but I also bought a few stretchy dresses, like this swingy maroon number from Lulu’s, that were more comfortable to wear with my growing bump.
I loved this pink dress from Pink Blush. It comes in so many other pretty colors! I also obviously love all of the dresses from Christy Dawn and got this dress from Doen for Christmas. While it is not technically a maternity dress, in the size small it fits my bump and flows out so beautifully.
This black dress from ASOS Maternity is so pretty and I wore this for Christmas. I almost bought this beauty and I so wish I had because how pretty is this?!
Maternity Bras and Sleep Wear
When I got pregnant the very first thing that happened was that I needed to buy a new bra. Almost overnight none of my normal bras fit anymore. I purchased these 3 nursing bras. I really had trouble finding maternity/nursing bras that I liked because most of them are just so ugly. However, I completely loved these two underwire ones. They are just prettier than some of the others out there! I wore this soft one at the very beginning and again at the very end when everything just feels sore. I also got very obsessed with pajamas and sleepwear! There is just something so nice about putting on a beautiful pair of pajamas to sleep at night. Because I will be soon waking up at all hours of the night I also want to look somewhat pretty and put together and not like a total mess. I will be bringing this robe to the hospital and also love this cozy, warm pink robe.
