Wine Tasting at Castello di Verrazzano

Wine tasting at Castello di Verrazzano

Last year when we were in Italy we never went to winery and never experienced a wine tasting! I think we were so busy traveling from place to place that we never allowed ourselves enough time to really settle into Tuscany and enjoy all it has to offer. This year we decided that we would really dive deep into  Tuscany and do less major traveling outside of Italy. So! Alas, we finally visited a winery in the Chianti region. We drove about 45 minutes south of Florence to the Castello di Verrazzano for lunch time vineyard tour and wine tasting. We bought a ticket for the “Chianti Tradition” experience, which included a wine tour, tasting and a plate of cheeses and appetizers. This ticket is all you need to buy because they give you so much food and more wine than you can possibly drink! I loved getting to experience the whole vineyard tour and wine tasting. It was so much fun and we loved our experience here. The Castle and property are beautiful. The wine was also fabulous and the tasting let you experience lots of different types of their wines.

It was also really fun to get the chance to get to know people from all across the world during the tasting. I love meeting people from different countries and hearing what life is like for them. One couple from England even told us that the majority of employers in England give their employees 5 weeks of vacation a year, at minimum. They were shocked when they found out that employers in the US normally only give their employees 2 weeks of vacation time.

We had a wonderful experience at this winery and would definitely recommend visiting this place if you are ever in the Chianti region!
