Smalldoor Design Burr Ridge Home Renovation

In this Burr Ridge home renovation, it was very important for the client to showcase his daughter’s art. A  piece of her original work takes center stage in the living room and neutral accents of cream, tan and black in the tavertine limestone coffee table allow the show stopping piece to really shine. Another one of her original pieces hangs above the bed in the masterbedroom and other pieces of the owner’s private art collection and delightful family antiques from his family lake house and farm are showcased throughout the home.  I absolutely loved the beautiful textures used throughout the entire house- the soft antelope rug that welcomes you into the living room, the antique pine side table covered with studded leather mirror, the jaw dropping marble bathrooms and (my very) favorite smokey grey wallpaper made of wool reminiscent of men’s suiting fabric in the entryway bathroom. Smalldoor Design gutted and renovated the entire home, updating almost all of the cabinetry and the home appliances. Smalldoor Design also worked with the client to design the interiors and purchase much of the furniture. The whole process only lasted around nine months. I could not even believe it – for such an extensive project- just nine months. This home renovation is such a warm and cheerful tribute to the creativity and hard work of this special family.
