West Village and the Brooklyn Bridge

DSC_0059

Growing up I always wanted to live in New York City. I used to beg my parents to take me on vacation to NYC and only first ended up visiting when my brother lived in NYC. Over the years we have really gotten to know the West Village and it is by far my favorite part of NYC. There is nothing like it. The whole neighborhood has the best quaint, slightly European feel. The restaurants and shops are so beautiful- all very small but utilize the space so well. The flight to NYC from Chicago is really easy, only an hour and half. Matt and I really were awed by how safe the whole city felt in comparison to Chicago. Even though NYC is SO much bigger it feels much safer than Chicago for some reason. We did SO much in this trip. We explored the West Village, walked the High Line, ate Cannolis in Little Italy and walked the Brooklyn Bridge. I would recommend doing all of the above! It is all worth seeing. We had dinner at Bobo in the West Village the first night and then at Lupa the next night. Both restaurants were to die for! If you are in the area you should definitely make a reservation at either restaurant.

^^ Walking the High Line, which is a must do when you are in NYC. The High Line is an old rail road track which has been converted into a walking path above the West Village and shows the coolest views of the city. They have really built up a lot of the green space.

^^ Little Italy was so much fun and full of so much great energy. We loved it so much, we went back the next night.
