Hats, a Promise and Tassels

During the Rooted Chicago Conference this past April, I heard the most beautiful testimony from the smallest, very very nervous Chinese girl. She spoke about how after a year of marriage her husband left and filed for divorce. She was completely shocked and abandoned. She was now something that she never thought she would be- a twenty-five year old divorcee. As she was going through her divorce, she held onto this beautiful promise-

“You who have made me see many troubles and calamities WILL revive me again; from the depths of the earth you WILL bring me up again. You WILL increase my greatness and comfort me again. I will also praise you with the harp for your faithfulness, O my God; I will sing praises to you.” ‭‭

Psalms‬ ‭71:20-22‬ ‭ESV.

Hearing her speak about the power that verse had for her during her divorce made the promise so real for me. Sometimes I need to hear the truth of God from someone else before it sinks in for me.

God WILL revive you, He WILL bring you back up from the depths of the Earth and He WILL increase your greatness and WILL comfort you.

Isn’t that beautiful?! No matter what you are going through, no matter what unspeakable depth you are facing He WILL revive you. You will see God’s faithfulness and will praise Him for it.

The Bible does not say, you MAY be revived, the Bible tells you that you WILL be revived. The Bible does not say that you MAY see God’s faithfulness and praise Him, it says you WILL praise God for His faithfulness.

I need to be told what WILL happen. Not what MAY happen. The depth is not the end of the story.

On a totally different note! Tassels are a huge trend this summer. I love this tassel shirt, this necklace and these shoes. I love this fancier necklace which is majorly on sale and would be such a beautiful statement piece! Sidenote- I may or may have not immediately purchase this necklace after seeing it. 

My hat weakness is a slight problem. I love this cute one and it is on sale! This hat is perfect for the beach and sun protection!
