Entertaining at Home

I love, love, LOVE having people over for dinner.  I just love hosting celebrations at our home and everything that goes into it. The planning is so fun and it is so fun to get our apartment just a little spruced up for guests. There is something so intimate about inviting people over to your home and then getting the chance to be guests in their homes as well. It really builds relationships. I always hope that our home is a place of celebrations, comfort and sweet beauty. Life can be hard but a good meal and glass of wine with friends just makes everything a little better.

• Size of the party- Matt and I can be so busy, so sometimes we want to invite more people for one dinner and will invite 2-3 couples. The bigger settings are fun but the sweet spot always seems to be having just one other couple. I would always suggest just one other couple. That allows for special one on one time.
• Q Squared NYC plates, bowls and serving platters- You guys. These plates and this cheese board is plastic! My mom found this brand right before we got married and I have been obsessed with it. I wanted something that looked like the Blue Willow plates but was good for the every day. We have these plates and bowls and they are THE BEST. Plus they are SO affordable! We have the Cambridge Rose in Cobalt collection. But I also really love this for summer! This serving platter is so beautiful! Matt and I also have these plates as our higher dining like China Blue Willow set and I could not be more in love with them. Clearly, blue and white is a big deal over in our home.
• Barefoot Contessa everything and anything- I generally only trust recipes from the Barefoot Contessa Cook Books. They are simple and they never fail. Do yourself a favor and make the Lemon Chicken– this recipe is a staple for us and is so good and so healthy!
• Always have Cheese and Red and White Wine- We are obsessed with the Boursin Cheese. I mean it is so indulgently good there are no words. Also big fan favorites of the Apothic Red wines.
• Little party lights- I love these firefly lights which make everything just feel much more festive!
