Cute Budget Friendly Hotels in Warm Places

(Image from Post Card Inn on the Beach)

The cold months of Chicago are really cold. (Most obvious statement ever.) It is always good to get away some place warm for a few days during this time … and even better if you do not have to spend a ton of money to do so. I researched some budget hotels (hotels that have rooms preferably under $150.00 and then some under $250) and came up with a list of places that looked adorable where you can stay without breaking the bank.

Just thirty minutes outside of the Tampa International Airport, this hotel is right on the water. The rooms look clean, trendy and like a really great cost effective option that does not scrimp on style. All the rooms look totally instagramable. While Tampa may not be the most beautiful, cultured place in the entire world, you can spend all day on the beach without heading into some of the less beautiful parts. Book before December 16th, 2014 to get some major savings on stays before February 5th, 2015.

Recently, I have been hearing really good things about San Antonio. San Antonio is supposed to be a beautiful, interesting town to explore. This hotel is right on the river walk and would be in a perfect location to explore the city. I love the simplicity of the rooms. Supposedly, the Havana boasts to have a thriving night life scene as well.

Palm Springs is known for always being warm with generally perfect weather. This relatively new boutique hotel looks clean and trendy. The food also looks amazing. Clean, white rooms are my thing and so obviously this hotel makes the list. Fair warning- after pursuing their calendar, it is clear this place is pretty popular and generally booked. Plan in advance to take advantage of the more cost effective rooms and weekend dates.

New Orleans has always been on my list of cities that I want to check out. I just never want to go during Mardi Gras… (eek!).  It would be fun to explore the city in some of the off season months when all the crazy tourists are gone and the weather is warm.  This hotel was mentioned on some lists for being a good budget hotel option in New Orleans. Look through dates and rooms to make it more cost effective.

Charleston is my favorite city in the US. It is just romantic, quaint and filled with such old southern charm. The Planters Inn was named the #1 Small City Hotel by “Travel and Leisure” in their 2014 issue. The rooms are on the more expensive side but you can still find something under $250.

… Fair Warning- I have not actually stayed at any of these hotels. This list was compiled from some online research I did, scouring different lists of stylish cost effective hotels in warm places. If you have stayed at any of these hotels, please feel free to let me know what your experience was like. If you have any other recommendations, I would love to hear from you as well!
